How to Use your CC Witness
as
a Data Storage Device.
In
addition to its normal functions, the CC Witness can also be used as
a data storage device. This means that you can store
just about any type
of data on the CC Witness for transportation.
In this way the CC Witness is basically a flash memory drive.
Just like a USB flashdrive or a memory
card.
To
use the CC Witness as a removable data
storage device, just connect the CC Witness to your computer
and transfer the desired data to it. You can store
photos, documents, video, or any other type of data
on the CC Witness. Then you can transport the stored
data to another computer for use.
While data is stored on the CC Witness,
you may not be able to see the files listed on the Witness'
display. However, when the CC Witness is plugged into a
computer, the files are able to be seen. This is because
the CC Witness can only recognize MP3 audio files. So
although you can store other types of data on it, the CC
Witness will only display MP3 format audio
files.
Another neat
trick is to use the CC Witness as a SD card (flash card)
reader. This is basically the same process as detailed
above, except that you'll use an SD instead of the CC Witness'
internal memory. For example, if you have an SD card
that you use in your digital camera, and you
want to transfer your photographs to your computer, but your computer
doesn't have an SD card reader, you can just put
the SD card into your CC Witness and plug it into
your computer. This is a great way to avoid purchasing a separate SD card
reader.
