How to use the CC Witness in a vehicle
Thanks to the CC
Witness, you no longer need to drag your CD/music collection
with you in your car. With a large SD card, you can use your
CC Witness to store and enjoy enough music for even the
longest of road trips. Here are some great ideas of how
to make the most out of your CC Witness while on the road.
Powering the CC Witness in your
car/vehicle:
To charge your CC Witness from a vehicle,
you'll need a device similar to the Boxwave
Versacharger Pro. This simple device can be plugged
into a vehicle's cigarette lighter, or into a normal
(two-prong) wall outlet to allow you to charge any USB device.
It's a great way to make sure you always have a way to charge
your CC Witness.
Listening to you CC Witness in
your car:
You can use an FM
transmitter
to broadcast the audio from your CC
Witness to any FM radio, including your vehicle's FM
reciever. FM transmitters are commonly available,
and the C Crane company offers a professional-quality model
that works great for use with the CC Witness. In fact, it
delivers a far enough range that you could actually use
it to broadcast audio to other vehicles nearby on the
road. So if you have multiple cars traveling in a convoy (as
with sport-team, church, or family trips) you can actually
have all the cars tune their radios to a single FM frequency
and listen to the audio from a single CC Witness. This also
makes for the best tailgate party sound system ever!
To
use an FM transmitter with the CC Witness, just plug the
transmitter into the headphone jack on the CC Witness, choose
an open FM frequecy to broadcast on, then tune your FM
radio(s) to the chosen frequency. An "open" frequency is
simply any frequency that isn't already being
used by a radio station. To find an open FM frequecy,
just scan through the FM band on your radio until you find one
that has no station, just static.
