The CC Witness is
equipped with two forms of reset. Pressing the
reset button on the side of the CC Witness will
turn it off and back on again. This is considered a "soft"
reset. No data will be lost and no functions will be
affected when a soft reset is
performed.
Sometimes an issue can be
too great for a soft reset to fix. In these
situations, a "hard" reset may be the answer. Use
this as a last resort however, because a hard reset
will result in the loss of
all files on the CC Witness.
NOTE: Performing a "hard" reset will
result in the loss of all data stored on the CC Witness.
Please transfer all desired files and/or data to your
computer or other data storage location before performing
a "hard" reset.
Step 1
Put the lock switch in the
"ON" position.
Step 2
Press and hold down the
"back" button.
Step 3
(While holding the back button down) Use
a pointed object to press the reset hole on the side of the CC
Witness once. Then you can let go of the back
button. You'll see a message on the display that says "Format, Please Wait". When
the CC Witness is finished resetting it will turn back
on.
